Pixies + Study Abroad?

The other day I was listening to SmartLess, the podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett. As a fan of Arrested Development and Will and Grace, I figured I’d be interested in their banter and humor.

As a fan of the Pixies, I was delighted to find out that Black Francis (Charles Thompson) studied in Puerto Rico to learn Spanish. He and Joey Santiago had talked about starting a band while they were at UMass Amherst, and while Black Francis was in Puerto Rico he wrote Joey a letter to say meet him in Boston and they’d start that band.
